Bradley’s Pro-Street Vega
This is an amazingly cool car on a couple of levels… To begin with it, just take a look. Follow that up with the video below the gallery.
Of course, the look of the car, and the impressive powertrain only tell part of the story. Even if the car were bone stock, it would actually be on the cooler side of the spectrum. It isn’t rusty. And that is a pretty big change from the average Vega. But there is one more level of rarity to this car… The base car is a Cosworth Vega… a limited production, high performance version of the Vega.
In 1975 and 1976, Chevy built 3,508 Cosworth powered Vegas. In 1975, the cost was $5,916, which was $900 less than a Corvette… But, the 110hp 2 liter engine pushed it to 60mph in less than 8 seconds, and contemporary car magazines compared it (favorably) with Alfas, Lancias and Saabs. In fact, Car and Driver in a 1975 Cosworth Vega test said: “The outstanding feature of the Cosworth Vega is its excellent balance..Roll-stiffness distribution is ideal, with little understeer entering a turn, and just the right amount of drift from the tail as you put your foot down to exit …Through the woods or down a mountain, the Cosworth is a feisty aggressor willing, if not altogether able to take on the world’s best GT cars.” from Wikipedia
So, Bradley has a multi-faceted cool car.
